The eastern form of Epipactis dunensis, which grows only in dunes of the small 'Holy Island' called 'Lindisfarne' in North-East England, and which differs slightly from the Epipactis dunensis of the western coast, has been recombined to Epipactis dunensis subsp. sancta by Carel Kreutz in 2007 in Jour.Eur.Orch. 39 (1): 123-134. In 2000 it had been described as Epipactis peitzii subsp. sancta by DELFORGE, in 2002 it had been recombined to Epipactis sancta by DELFORGE & GEVAUDAN, and in 2004 it had again been recombined to Epipactis leptochila subsp. sancta by KREUTZ.
