The site of this species which has been described in 2007 is in the mountain range of the National Park Lessinia north of Verona. Its name comes from the site at Monte Tesoro. Some treat the species as a subspecies of Epipactis leptochila. In the year 2010, which had a very late development of the vegetation, only few of the orchids opened their blossoms, and these were over when I was there. All others behaved cleistogamously.
