Ophrys castellana, described in 1988 by DEVILLERS and DEVILLERS-TERSCHUREN, is rather multiformly. It can have green or colored perigon. Its distribution covers large parts of the interior of Spain, from the northern parts of Andalusia to Navarra in northern Spain. It prefers fresh to damp sites, which is rather unusual for an Ophrys.
