In the Promontorio del Gargano a spider-like Ophrys is wide spread.
Its labellum is a smaller than that of normal Middle-european sphegodes.
I think it is an arachnitiforme Ophrys, not Ophrys sphegodes s.str. How far it is
distributed out of the Gargano I don't know.
Only in 2011 in Jour.Eur.Orch. 43 (4) ROMOLINI and SOCA described the species under the name
Ophrys minipassionis.
In the region of Martina Franca, which is located in the Italian province of Apulia, too,
similar plants with coloured perigon can rarely be found.
