Up to now findings of Ophrys panattensis have only been announced from eastern Sardinia. The description of the species took place in 1992 as alleged hybride. The species causes the impression to be an intermediate between the Sicilian Ophrys lunulata and the sardian Ophrys morisii, some are also reminding of Ophrys scolopax.
As all relatives of Ophrys lunulata, Ophrys panattensis is pollinated by a mason bee, in this case Osmia rufa, as PAULUS and GACK reported 1995 in Jber.naturwiss.Verein.Wuppertal 48.
