Etymology:
   Allium:   Roman name of Garlic
   palentinum:   from Montana Palentina, a mountain range in the Northern Spanish province of Palencia
 

Allium palentinum from the mountains in the central North of Spain differs from Allium senescens subsp. montanum e.g. by the following details: The stem is round, not angular. The stipes of the three inner stamens in the wider opened blossom are thickened in the lower part, and have also a tooth in the lowest part, which can be seen in Fig. 4.
