Ambrosia: | griechischer Pflanzenname, nach a brotos = unsterblich / Greek plant name, from a brotos = immortal | ||

psilostachya: | psilos = nackt, stachys = Ohr / psilos = naked, stachys = ear | ||
Diese aus Amerika stammende Art hat sich besonders im Raum Mannheim eingebürgert. Da sie windbestäubt ist, braucht sie keine farbigen Blütenblätter, um Insekten anzulocken. Deshalb ist die Art kaum als Korbblütler zu erkennen. Die männlichen Blüten sitzen oben an den Stängeln. Von den weiblichen Blüten sind nur die Griffeläste sichtbar. This species comes from America. Mainly in the region of Mannheim it found a new home. Since it is pollinated by the wind, it doesn't need colored petals to attract insects. Therefore it can hardly be recognized as a Composite. The male blossoms are sitting in the upper part at the stems. Of the female blossoms only the branches of the pistils are visible. | ||
