Das auffälligste Kennzeichen dieser Art ist, dass die untersten Tragblätter wie Laubblätter ausgebildet sind. Die Blüte hat stets nur 5 Staubblätter. Die Behaarung kann bei verschiedenen Populationen ganz unterschiedlich ausfallen, oft auch drüsig.

The most conspicuous attribute of this species is that the lowest bracts are looking like leaves. The blossom has always only 5 stamens. The pilosity can be very different in different populations, often glandular.
