Etymology:
   Diphyscium:   di = two, physke = stomach
   foliosum:   leafy
 

nahe verwandten Kobold-Moosen.

The relative big spore capsules of the Nut Moss are growing "at ground level", not on a short stalk as those of the closely related Bug-on-a-Stick Mosses.closely related Bug-on-a-Stick Mosses.If pressure impacts the ripe capsule, because e.g. a rain drop falls on it, the spores are ejected far up to a meter.
