Etymology:
   Equisetum:   equus = horse, seta = bristle
   arvense:   growing in fields
   nemorosa:   growing in a grove
 

This form of the Field Horsetail which has been described in 1843 by A. BRAUN is characterized by a tall figure with long branches. The lower part of the stem is pale green to ivory colored.
