Gentiana acaulis and Gentiana clusii are the two large-flowered blue Gentians that are widespread throughout the whole Alps. Gentiana acaulis is growing on silicate and decalcified substrates, while Gentiana clusii can be found on limestone. At G. acaulis the green areas in the interior of the blossom are more important, and the leaves are wider. Gentiana acaulis has constricted calyx lobes, Gentiana clusii does not. | ||
