Gentiana clusii and Gentiana acaulis are the two large-flowered blue Gentians that are widespread throughout the whole Alps. Clusius' Gentian is growing on limestone, while Gentiana acaulis can be found on silicate and decalcified substrates. At Gentiana acaulis the green areas in the interior of the blossom are more important, and the leaves are wider. Gentiana acaulis has constricted calyx lobes, Gentiana clusii does not. | ||
