The Giant Hogweed Heracleum mantegazzianum comes from Asia, to Central Europe it was introduced as an attractive park plant. Often the plant runs wild at fresh or moist locations. Glands on stems and leaves secrete phototoxic oils when touched, which, if they are not washed off immediately, in combination with sunlight can form dermatoses on the human skin, which can last weeks until healing. | ||
