The stem of the Soft Rush Juncus effusus has 30 to 60 very fine rips, which can hardly be felt if you are are running across it by the fingers. The stem of the similar Compact Rush Juncus conglomeratus however has only 12 - 30 rips, which can clearly be felt. | ||
