Onobrychis: | griechischer Pflanzenname, von onos = Esel, brychein = fressen / Greek plant name, from onis = donkey, brychein = to eat
Onobrychis aequidentata is distributed between Italy and the Middle East. It has large flowers (10 - 14 mm) and the inflorescence sits on a showy, long and hairy stalk. Their fruits are bordered by several broad triangular 'spikes', distinguishing them from those of the similar species Onobrychis caput-galli and Onobrychis crista-galli. The also widespread Onobrychis caput-galli is smaller-flowered than Onobrychis aequidentata with a short flower stalk.
