Botanic professor AVINOAM DANIN from Israel distinguished and described six different species in the Portulaca oleracea aggregate according to their seed. The seeds have different sizes and different structures of the surface. At least four of these species have also been found in Germany: Portulaca granulatostellulata, Portulaca papillatostellulata, Portulaca nitida, and Portulaca oleracea s.str. (= stellulata). The species are hardly distinguishable by an unaided eye, a strong magnifier or better a microscope is needed. First findings of three microspecies in Nordrhine-Westphalia have been presented in Funde von Portulaca granulatostellulata, P. nitida und P. papillatostellulata in Nordrhein-Westfalen. | ||
