Almond trees of which the sweet fruits are harvested have white flowers. The almond trees with pink flowers, which you can see e.g. in parks or along the 'Pfaelzer Weinstrasse' (Palatinian Wine Road, a tourist road in SW Germany) are not suitabe for harvesting. These 'Almonds' are hybridized with Peaches in order to achieve the nice flowers, but the fruits are small and contain much prussic acid. | ||
