Etymology:
   Salix:   Roman name of the willow
   rubens:   red
   alba:   white
   fragilis:   fragile
 

The hybrid Salix x rubens between the White Willow Salix alba and the Crack Willow Salix fragilis can hardly be differed from the Crack Willow.
