Basically Silene italica is looking as Silene nutans. The most striking difference is that its coronal scales in the middle of the blossom are absent or very small. Morever Silene italica is scenting intensely. From the similar but much rarer Silene nemoralis, Silene italica differs by its smaller stature and more hairy calyx. | ||
