This plant grows in big numbers at the Northern shore of the lake Lough Caragh, County Kerry, Ireland. Originally it is not an European plant, but one of the Blue-eyed Grasses out of a group of primitive Iris from Northern America. but as the orchid Spiranthes romanzoffianabut as the orchid Spiranthes romanzoffianaSisyrinchium bermudiana might have invaded Ireland on the natural way.
