Sorbus latifolia, which has developed hybridogenously from the parents Whitebeam in wide sense Sorbus aria s.l.
and Wild Service Tree Sorbus torminalis, is occasionally grown in parks and gardens of our region.
The tree originates from the region of Paris (France). The first nine photos are showing a clan from a garden in Weinheim an der Bergstraße (SW Germany),
of which the leaves are somewhat deviating from Sorbus latifolia s.str..
The further photos show Sorbus latifolia s.l. of two populations from the region of Idar-Oberstein with obviously not completely unique leaf form.
There is a number of stabilized and hereditary-stable hybrid clans, which originate from the same parents, but have developed in different regions.
The leaves, mainly their edges and the pilosity of the bottom side, are different in each case.
