Etymology:
   Vicia:   Roman plant name, from vincere = to enwind
   disperma:   di = two, spermum = seed
   parviflora:   small-flowered
 

This Vetch of the Western Mediterranean is rather small flowered. A frequently used synonyme is Vicia parviflora LOISEL., this may not be confused with the synonyme Vicia parviflora CAV. of Ervum gracile.
