Etymology:
   Ophrys:   Greek plant name, from ophrys = eyebrow
   brutia:   from Brutia (Southern Italy)
 

Deutsch:
Ganz neu beschrieben wurde 2003 von DELFORGE die relativ kleinblütige Ophrys brutia aus Kalabrien in Natural.Belges 84 (Orchid.16), die er als ähnlich der Ophrys incubacea und Ophrys sphegodes s.str. ansieht. Um eine nähere Zuordnung treffen zu können, wäre es wünschenswert, das bestäubende Insekt zu kennen.
 
English:
Very recently in 2003 DELFORGE decribed the small flowered Ophrys brutia from Calabria in Natural.Belges 84 (Orchid.16), which he assumes as closely related to Ophrys incubacea and Ophrys sphegodes s.str. To achieve a closer assignment, it would be good to know the pollinating insect of the orchid.
