Ophrys holoserica s.l. with usually rather reflexed lip from the Provence, which DELFORGE had united with Ophrys truncata under the name Ophrys aegirtica, had been beared by Remy SOUCHE in his book 'Les Orchidées sauvages de France' (2004) as unnamed species 'late flowering Late Spider Orchid of the Vaucluse'. The species description was then done by DELFORGE as Ophrys druentica in Natural.belges 87 (Orchid.19): 121-140 (2006). Also the first in 2012 by Roland MARTIN and Errol VELA as Ophrys holoserica subsp. souchei described orchid from roughly the same region had Remy SOUCHE seen under his then still unnamed 'late-flowering Late Spider Orchid of the Vaucluse'. Still in the same year Pierre DELFORGE recombined it as Ophrys souchei.
