Ophrys: | Greek plant name, from ophrys = eyebrow
gresivaudanica: | from Grésivaudan between Grenoble and Chambéry (France)
Le late Ophrys holoserica s.l. from the region of Grenoble has been described as own species Ophrys gresivaudanica some years ago, but most probably it is identical with Ophys elatior, which occurs in German and French Upper Rhine Valley, Switzerland, and the region around Lyon. This is also the opinion of Remy SOUCHE in his book 'Les Orquidées sauvages de France' (2004). |
