In 2001 Ophrys halia has been described by H.F.PAULUS in Ber.Arbeitskrs.Heim.Orch. 18 (2): 46-63. It starts to flower in middle of April. The lip is relatively small, the gynostemium compact, the sepals have often green or purple-green colour, the petala are triangular and long, up to half the length of the sepals. The pollinating insect, most probably a bee of genus Eucera, isn't known yet. |
