Bäume der Libanon-Zeder sind einhäusig getrenntgeschlechtlich, jeder Baum ist also entweder männlich oder weiblich. Der weibliche Zapfen der Libanon-Zeder bleibt etwa zwei Jahre am Baum, bis er mit etwa 6 cm Durchmesser reif ist. Dann zerfällt er in einzelne Schuppen mit Samen, die zu Boden fallen. Die leere Spindel bleibt noch einige Monate länger am Baum, bis sie dann abfällt.

Trees of the Cedar of Lebanon are monoecious, every tree is either male or female. The female cone of the Cedar of Lebanon remains at the tree for about two years until it is ripe with a diameter of about 6 cm. Then it disintegrates to single scales with seed, which fall down on the ground. The empty rachis remains at the tree for some more months until it falls down.
