Bei Erodium malacoides sind die Kelchspitzen nur bis zu 0,7 mm lang und die Fruchtschnäbel 18 bis 35 mm. Bei dem sehr ähnlichen Erodium chium sind beide länger: Die Kelchspitzen 0,7 bis 2 mm und die Fruchtschnäbel 30 bis 40 mm lang.

In Erodium malacoides the calyx tips are only up to 0.7 mm long and the fruit beaks are 18 to 35 mm. In the very similar Erodium chium both are longer: the calyx tips 0.7 to 2 mm and the fruit beaks 30 to 40 mm long.
