Diese zierliche Pflanze ist nur 10 bis 30 cm hoch und stammt aus dem Himalaya. Die Blätter können einen dunklen Fleck aufweisen. An frischen bis feuchten Waldweg-Rändern zwischen Benolpe und Hofolpe (Kreis Olpe, Nordrheinwestfalen) wurden bereits mindestens 11 Standorte gefunden. Eingebürgert erscheinende Vorkommen der Pflanze wurden in Nordrhein-Westfalen auch bei Iserlohn, Haltern am See und in der Wahner Heide gefunden. Auch in anderen deutschen Bundesländern und in Nachbarstaaten wurden Vorkommen der Pflanze notiert. Man vermutet, dass der Knöterich mit Wildacker-Ansaaten eingebracht wird, und sich dann verselbstständigt.

This tiny plant is only 10 to 30 cm high and originates from the Himalayas. The leaves can show a dark dot but need not. At fresh to wet edges of forest paths between Benolpe and Hofolpe (Kreis Olpe, North-Rhine Westphalia) at least 11 sites have been found. Other occurrences of the plant, which leave a mark to be naturalized, have been found in North-Rhine Westphalia near Iserlohn, Haltern am See and in the Wahner Heide. Also in other German regions and in some other European countries occurrences of the plant have been noted. It is assumed that the plant is introduced with seed for wildlife food plots, and then runs wild.
