Zur Unterscheidung der Weißwurz-Arten der Gattung Polygonatum:
Polygonatum odoratum besitzt vorwiegend einzelne Blüten, bei den anderen Arten hängen an den Blütenpositionen jeweils Gruppen von 2 bis 5 Blüten. Polygonatum verticillatum besitzt schmale Blätter, die anderen beiden mehrblütigen Arten ovale Blätter.
