Prunus cocomilia TEN. ist die Italienische Pflaume, die von Süditalien und Sizilien über Kroatien bis in die westliche Türkei verbreitet ist. Sie besitzt runde gelbe Früchte, wegen denen sie auch angebaut wird, obwohl sie das gleiche Gift 'Blausäure' wie Bittere Mandeln enthalten. Prunus ursina KOTSCHY ist die Bären-Pflaume, die in Wäldern von der Türkei bis in den Nahen Osten wächst, und ebenfalls runde gelbe Früchte mit den gleichen Eigenschaften besitzt. Einige Autoren vereinigen beide Arten unter Prunus cocomilia.
Ich habe kurze Beschreibungen von Prunus cocomilia in der 'Flora Europaea' und von beiden Arten in der 'Flora of Turkey' verfügbar. Meine Fotos treffen auf die Art mit den kahleren Blättern, Prunus cocomilia, gut zu, insbesondere die mehreren weißen Blüten, die gleichzeitig mit den Blättern erscheinen, und die 'crenulate" Blattzähnung, was ich als 'mit kleinen gerundeten Zähnen' übersetzen würde.

Prunus cocomilia TEN. is the Italian Plum, which is distributed from Southern Italy and Sicily across Croatia to Western Turkey. It has round yellow fruits, for which it is also cultivated, although they contain the same poison 'hydrogen cyanide' as Bitter Almonds. Prunus ursina KOTSCHY is the Bear's Plum, which occurs in woods between Turkey and the Middle East. It has round yellow fruits with the same attributes, too. Some authors unite the two species under Prunus cocomilia.
I have short descriptions of Prunus cocomilia available in the 'Flora Europaea', and of both species in the 'Flora of Turkey'. My photos match the more bare-leaved species Prunus cocomilia well, particularly the multiple white flowers appearing with the leaves, and the 'crenulate' leaf margin, which I would translate as 'with small rounded teeth'.
