Enno Schubert fand diese Haselblatt-Brombeere mehrfach in seinem Kartierungsgebiet, dem Weschnitztal im Vorderen Odenwald. Nach ihrer dichten Bestachelung benannte er sie mit einem provisorischen Arbeitsnamen. Wahrscheinlich ist die Sippe nur eine Regionalart, die nicht in einem genügend großen Gebiet vorkommt, um offiziell als Art beschrieben zu werden.
Neben 54 Rubus-Arten mit einem überregionalen oder weiträumigen regionalen Verbreitungsgebiet ab 50 km, die als Arten beschrieben sind oder noch werden, fand Enno Schubert in seinem Kartierungsgebiet, dem etwa 70 km langen Oberlauf der Weschnitz östlich Weinheim, auch 6 Rubus-Sippen, die er zwar mehrfach fand, von denen bisher aber nur ein kleineres regionales Verbreitungsgebiet bekannt ist. Die gezeigte Brombeere ist eine davon.

Enno Schubert found this bramble in his botanical mapping region, the Weschnitz valley in the West of the Odenwald, several times. According to its dense spines he named it with a provisional working name. Most probably it is only a regional clan which doesn't occur in a region which is big enough to become described officially as species.
In addition to 54 Rubus species with a supraregional or regional distribution area of 50 km or more, which are or will be described as species, Enno Schubert found in his mapping area, the about 70 km long upper part of the Weschnitz East of Weinheim, also 6 clans which he found multiply, but of which currently only a smaller regional distribution area is known. The shown bramble is one of the latter ones.
