Die Deckspelze von Aegilops neglecta besitzt wie die der Aegilops biuncialis nur zwei bis drei Grannen. Bei Aegilops neglecta sitzen oberhalb der fruchtbaren Ährchen noch eine oder wenige schmalere unfruchtbare Ährchen, was bei Aegilops biuncialis nicht der Fall ist.

Like that of Aegilops biuncialis, the lemma (outer glume) of Aegilops neglecta has only two to three awns. In Aegilops neglecta there are one or few narrower infertile spikelets above the fertile spikelets, which is not the case in Aegilops biuncialis.
