The plant has been determined as Bolanthus chelmicus PHITOS subsp. meteoricus PHITOS according to the distribution maps in Flora Hellenica 1 (1997). From the typical subspecies Bolanthus chelmicus subsp. chelmicus, which has only been found twice, the more frequent subsp. meteoricus differs by longer leaves and longer pilosity.
Compared with Bolanthus graecus, which is found more Southern (Eastern Sterea Ellas, Euboea), the calyx and seed corns are smaller (calyx 3-3.5(-4) mm, at Bolanthus graecus 4-5(-6) mm). In Flora Europaea 1 Bolanthus chelmicus is mentioned in a remark under Bolanthus thessalus. Thank you very much to Ralf Jahn for the investigation.
