| Synon.: Carex leersii F.W.SCHULTZ, Carex divulsa STOKES subsp. leersii (KNEUCK.) W.KOCH |
| Genus: Carex L. |
Carex polyphylla is a robust plant; for instance, the stems of the plant at Bad Dürkheim are up to 75 cm long, and their leaves are up to 5 mm wide. It bears 5 to 10 spikelets, the lower ones of which are arranged very loosely. The inflorescense of Carex divulsa has a similar stature, but it does not form tussocks, creating instead dense, low mats, and its leaves are only up to 3 mm wide. |
