Vorige Art/previous species (Left arrowball from Animation City 1991)     Petrorhagia illyrica  (ARD.) P.W.BALL & HEYWOOD     Nächste Art/next species (Right arrowball from Animation City 1991)

Fam.: Caryophyllaceae / Campion Fam.

Synon.:  Dianthus illyricus  (ARD.) FASSOU, N.KOROTKOVA, DIMOP. & BORSCH

Genus:  Petrorhagia  (SER.) LINK,  Dianthus  L.

The subspecies illyrica and taygetea occur in the Peloponnese. The calyx teeth of subspecies illyrica have one vein, while that of the subspecies taygetea shall have three. However, I cannot see any veins in the enlargement Fig. 6, nor in enlargements of Fig. 8 and 9. Nevertheless, I think that the pictures taken in Taygetos show the subspecies taygetea, as its calyx teeth are wider than those of the plant from Northern Greece, so three veins should fit on them.
