Polygonum centrale was published in 2022 by Bomble in Veröff. Bochumer Bot. Ver. 14(6) 63-77, this article is also included in the corresponding Jahrbuch für das Jahr 2022 (annual book for the year 2022) of the association. It is a stable clan standing between Polygonum arenastrum and Polygonum aviculare, found in Aachen and the surrounding region, also near Meerbusch-Nierst (Kreis Neuss) and near Udenbreth (Kreis Euskirchen), more findings are expected. Its habit is often stronger than that of Polygonum aviculare. The leaves can be broad as in Polygonum aviculare, but are green in color (and not grey-green as in Polygonum arenastrum). The blooms are as deeply divided as in Polygonum aviculare. It starts to bloom later than Polygonum aviculare, about the same time as Polygonum arenastrum.
