Ophrys forestieri, die seit 1994 mit dem heutigen Synonym Ophrys lupercalis P.DEVILLERS & J.DEVILLERS-TERSCHUREN benannt worden war, ist die großblütige frühblühende, von Andrena nigroaenea bestäubte fusca s.l., die in den meisten Teilen des Mittelmeergebiets wächst. Sie ist nicht identisch mit der später blühenden, von LINK im Jahr 1800 von Lissabon beschriebenen Ophrys fusca.
Ophrys forestieri, which since 1994 had been called by the today synonym Ophrys lupercalis P.DEVILLERS & J.DEVILLERS-TERSCHUREN, is the early fusca s.l. with big lip, growing in most parts of the Mediterranean and pollinated by Andrena nigroaenea. It is not identical with the later flowering Ophrys fusca, which LINK described near Lisbon in 1800.
