The plant has been determined as Bolanthus chelmicus PHITOS subsp. meteoricus PHITOS according to the distribution maps in Flora Hellenica 1 (1997).
From the typical subspecies Bolanthus chelmicus subsp. chelmicus, which has only been found twice, the more frequent subsp. meteoricus differs
by longer leaves and longer pilosity.
