In 1998 GUÉRIN and MERLET described this small-flowered and late flowering species, which is only known from a relative small region in western France, the hills of the Massif de Argenson, which is situated across the departements of Deux Sèvres, Vienne and Charente Maritime. The orchid is in flower from beginning of June to July.
